Heart Chakra – It is what connects everything
In the last two posts, I wrote about a life in balance and about mindfulness. Let’s stay with this topic a little longer. Here are some thoughts from the ELEWA Guide to a Holistic Life that I wrote in 2015. Let’s turn our attention specifically to the heart chakra. It is what connects everything, love. If the life energy does not flow here, our lives are severely impaired. If we close our heart, our body and soul suffer.
There is a lot of talk and writing about self-love these days and how important it is to accept, embrace and yes, love yourself with love. And it’s true, this is important. After all, we have to put up with ourselves for a lifetime. Without self-love, this would be very exhausting and joyless. However, we must not forget that we are not alone in this world, we are not the center of the universe and should meet our fellow human beings with an open heart chakra, to begin with.
If we realize that an encounter is not good for us, we can withdraw. If we realize that another person is robbing us of our life energy, we can stay away. What we are not allowed to do is think and speak badly about other people. These are negative thoughts. They rob us of our energy and block us on our path in life. Positive energy that we send out with our thoughts comes back to us at some point and determines our destiny.
A quote from the Talmud says:
- WATCH YOUR THOUGHTS, FOR THEY BECOME WORDS
- WATCH YOUR WORDS, FOR THEY BECOME ACTIONS
- WATCH YOUR ACTIONS, FOR THEY BECOME HABITS
- PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR HABITS, BECAUSE THEY BECOME YOUR CHARACTER
- PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR CHARACTER, BECAUSE IT BECOMES YOUR DESTINY

And once again. Despite all the attention we pay to ourselves, we are not alone in this world. We live in a large community. We must treat others with attention and mindfulness. This is the only way we can assess our counterparts and behave accordingly.
And sometimes we meet people who have lost their balance in life and need our support. We can’t help everyone, nobody asks us to do that and we can’t, but we can meet them with an open heart chakra.
In English there is the term: TO HOLD SPACE FOR SOMEONE
What does that mean? Translated, it means to create space. To create space in the heart.
- It means being there for someone else. Overcoming your own ego and taking the other person seriously without losing yourself.
- It means listening.
- It means conveying security. The other person is in good hands with you.
- It means being fully present. With body, mind and soul.
- It means not giving good advice. You can’t do that.
- It means not judging.
Those who put this into practice, or at least try to, strengthen their character, enrich their lives and allow their own life energy to flow.
