Thoughts on inner and outer beauty

First impressions count. Beautiful is not beautiful, pleasing makes you beautiful. True beauty comes from within. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

We all know these sayings and proverbs and somehow they all apply to some extent.

First impressions count. Mindful people don’t allow themselves to be overly influenced by first impressions and wait and see. In the end, it’s the overall impression that counts. What’s more, beauty really is in the eye of the beholder, so liking something makes it beautiful. We should always look closely, pay attention to details and let our impressions sink in without making hasty judgments. Perceive our counterpart with all our senses.

This is called mindfulness.

Take a short break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. You can do the following exercise anywhere. At home, during your lunch break, on a walk, when you’re out and about.

Use your senses. You can see, hear, smell, taste, touch and feel.

You are on the move. You are walking. You are sitting on a bench, in a café. It doesn’t matter what you are doing. Try to be very aware of your surroundings. The colors of nature, the sky, the trees. Listen to the sounds, take in the smells. What you smell, you can also taste. Feel the wind on your skin. Feel the warmth of the sun or the coolness of the air. Try to consciously perceive everything without judging it. Suddenly everything becomes much clearer and more intense. It feels like a surge of energy. Breathe in evenly through your nose and out through your mouth.

If you go through life mindfully, you sharpen your senses, live more consciously and get a feeling for the environment of which we are all a part. And they get a feeling for the other person. They are not guided by first impressions. If we want to see true beauty, we must learn to perceive with all our senses.

What does all this have to do with skincare?

Holistic skin care always includes the care of body, mind and soul. Everything is interconnected. We need to know that the skin is our largest organ and has many important tasks to fulfill.

It surrounds and protects our body from heat, cold, pressure, injuries and shocks
It protects against harmful environmental influences and radiation
It protects against water and heat loss

With sensible products that do not attack the skin’s protective acid mantle, we can help it to fulfill these tasks.

The skin is our largest sensory organ

With its receptors, it perceives pressure, pain and temperature.

Our skin reacts to our feelings

We can turn pale or blush. At the same time, we don’t feel comfortable in our skin.

Natural oils are useful products for skin care and protection. Every skin loves natural, plant-based oils. They strengthen the skin’s own lipid barrier and make the skin resistant. Strengthened in this way, the skin’s metabolism remains in balance and this contributes significantly to our outer beauty.

All African oils on which ELEWA products are based contain important nutrients, vitamins and minerals to keep our skin beautiful.

But now we also want to appeal to our senses and train our mindfulness. This is where fragrances are an important part of ELEWA Premium Skin Care Oils. Enriched with natural fragrance extracts or high-quality essential oils, our senses are mobilized.

  • Coconut
  • pear
  • Passion flower
  • papaya
  • lemongrass
  • Juniper berries
  • lemon
  • cypress
  • grapefruit
  • Frankincense
  • myrrh

We close our eyes and the scent of coconut transports us to exotic places. Positive memories of our childhood can arise and make us feel happy. Passion flower calms our agitated mind. Pear has a slightly refreshing effect. Lemon, juniper berry, cypress, lemongrass and grapefruit invigorate. Frankincense and myrrh relax the mind and support our meditation.

Our skin is nourished from within.

We should not overtax it. A plant-based diet not only keeps our figure – our outer appearance in shape – our skin also benefits from it.

What harms it?

  • Too much sugar
  • Too much fat
  • Alcohol
  • Nicotine
  • UV rays
  • Lack of exercise
  • Lack of sleep

What does she love?

  • Vegetables
  • fruit
  • Cereals
  • water
  • Exercise in the fresh air
  • Sufficient sleep

If we manage to maintain a healthy balance here, we have already achieved a lot. Of course, we can also enjoy a piece of cake or a glass of wine, sit in the sun and laze around. We don’t always have to be disciplined. If we think we have to give up too much, it creates a negative feeling. Only when we get the positive feeling that our lifestyle is beneficial to our well-being are we on the right track.

Smart Aging – Forever Young

What does that mean?

It means that there is no such thing as anti-ageing. We cannot stop ageing and we certainly cannot prevent it. We can only try to age in a healthy, happy, balanced way, in harmony with ourselves and nature. Those who don’t accept this and try to live it will find it very difficult.

But we can stay young at heart forever. Everyone is responsible for this. This leads to inner beauty.

And the skin also benefits from this.
